- No world map, yet the author clearly spelled out the majority of the land. I felt not including a map was a miss. Dragon War ended up being rather disappointing considering how much I enjoyed Dragonspawn. As I mentioned it felt incredibly rushed (like the author had a deadline the next morning and stayed up all night trying to finish the story) and incomplete. There were lots of great ideas and story arcs Acres could have explored but just never did. It felt like he gave up trying to be creative, didn't want to finish the story and just decided to end it with a quick resolution without bothering to expand on an interesting story. I don't expect nor want every fantasy story to be as lengthy as the Wheel of Time or Sword of Truth series but it seems shorter stories like this one always feel incomplete.
